The increased performance is a result of dimples delaying laminar flow separation which results in drag reduction in the intake path. The delay in laminar flow separation is causes by a phenomenon know as boundary layer turbulence which acts like a suction. The polymer material is also 1000 times less thermally conductive than aluminum which means it acts like a thermal brake keeping the carburetor cool. This means cooler air flowing to the engine, which means more power.

The carb spacer also features a honeycomb internal structure allowing for a very rigid structure at half the weight of aluminum the spacers.
